Belief Change Cycle
Belief Change Cycle
Purpose of the Technique:
This format is used to release old limiting beliefs and awaken new empowering ones.
There’s a saying: *“Faith can move mountains.”*
And it’s true.
What we believe defines both our limitations and our possibilities. That’s why it’s worth regularly reviewing our mental models.
Just like Henry Ford, who—against all engineering wisdom at the time—demanded that an eight-cylinder engine be built into a single block.
And although engineers said it was impossible, it became reality once they started trying.
This model, developed by Robert Dilts, is a powerful tool for transforming beliefs.
Standard Steps:
- Tuning In
- Current Belief
- Open to Doubt
- Open to New Belief
- Museum of Beliefs
- Desired Belief
- Trust
- New Story
Detailed Description:

An inner knowing that everything had its purpose and that the story continues evolving—with space for adjustments at any time.
Fully associate with the state.
Create and place a symbol.
Client connects with the symbol.
8. New Story:
Have the client tell their *story of change* using all the metaphors and symbols they’ve created.
