Resource Circle

This format is a lovely variant of anchoring. You can easily do it by yourself. I first learned it in my Practitioner training and then tried it dozens of times in just a few hours. It’s very straightforward and fun.

Standard Steps

1. Visualize a Circle

Imagine a circle on the floor in front of you. Choose a nice color for the circle, and think of a positive keyword (e.g., “excellent,” “great,” “fantastic”) to serve as an anchor.

2. Pick a Powerful State and Experience It

Choose a strong, positive state and immerse yourself in it (VAKOG).

3. Anchor the State

Set an anchor for this state with a touch or a gesture, such as making a fist.

4. Step into the Circle

Maintain the inner state, see the colored resource circle before you, take a deep breath, say your magic word, and step into the circle.

5. Enjoy the State

Enjoy the feeling, then step back out.

6. Repeat

Repeat with other states as often as you like.

7. Transfer to a Challenging Situation

Think of a challenging scenario. Imagine the scenario, step into the circle, say your magic word, and take a deep breath.

8. Notice the Change

Observe how you now perceive that situation differently.
