Finally some space – the YES to the NO
YVONNE VAN DYCK INVITES YOU IN THIS ARTICLE TO DISCOVER THE "NO" THAT COMES FROM A DEEP INNER "YES."
WITH HER ID´ KOMPASS® AND MAG(NET)IC® FEELINGS, SHE SHOWS HOW CONSCIOUSLY SETTING BOUNDARIES LEADS TO GROWTH, CLARITY, AND REAL SELF-CONNECTION – EVEN IN EVERYDAY LIFE.
IF YOU ALREADY KNOW YVONNE FROM OUR INTERVIEW IN ISSUE 2, YOU'LL FIND A POWERFUL AND INSPIRING DEEP DIVE INTO HER WORK HERE.
You're standing at a threshold. Maybe not for the first time – but this time it's different. This time, it's not about saying yes again. It's about finding your "no". A "no" that's not against something, but comes from a deep inner "yes." From love for YOURSELF. From your dignity. From your clarity. Possibly even from love for the "big idea".
If you feel this threshold – then you're in the right place. The stage. The topic. The time was right – and yet perhaps not quite yet.
Ten years ago, I stood on the stage at the "Wirklich Frau" congress. I was invited to talk about saying no. About the bravest "no" I know: the one that's born from a "yes". The NO that makes space. For YOU. For YOUR path. For YOUR idea.
I call my talk "Finally Space – the YES to NO". And I know: I'm not just talking about communication. I'm talking about thresholds. About growth. About an inner awakening that starts as soon as YOU are ready to take your space.
And I'm talking – consciously or not – about NLP. Because without NLP, I wouldn't have been able to develop the id' Kompass® or my mag(net)ic® feelings.
The language of your reality
NLP isn't just a tool for me. It's an understanding of how YOUR inner world is structured. How YOU perceive. How YOU think. How YOU talk – with yourself and with others. NLP gives me access to the structure of the unconscious: to the codes behind YOUR behavior, YOUR feelings, YOUR impact.
The mag(net)ic® feelings and the id' Kompass® I developed are a direct application of this understanding. The mag(net)ic® feelings are the GPS for your inner world, your reality. They're the poles for the id' Kompass, which is your GPS for the outer world. It shows you orientation points in communication, in your impact, in your growth, and also the interaction of different courses. Because there are people who "speak South" and people who "speak North." Even if you don't know anything about the id' Kompass, you'll notice that these communication courses don't aim in the same direction.

Your navigation
for development, communication and impact. For you, your Ideas and Your Team
Finally take your space and claim your spot!
I bring soap bubbles onto the stage. They shimmer in all the colors of the id' Kompass. I call them mag(net)ic colours. They're based on the Graves levels. These colors stand for areas of growth, spaces of awareness, perspectives on life. They're part of my id' Kompass® – a navigation tool for people like YOU who want to grow. Clearer. More authentic. More effective.
Each color stands for an area of YOUR inner landscape and each color has its own horizon:
- Purple: Me and my tribe. Protection. Belonging. Magical thinking.
- Red: Me and my strength. Impulse. Assertiveness. Here and now.
- Blue: Me and the order. Rules. Responsibility. Higher principle.
- Green: Me in the We. Relationship. Equality. Harmony.
- Orange: Me and my success. Goal. Performance. Self-optimization.
- Turquoise: Awareness in connection. Wholeness. Planetary. Evolution.
- Yellow: Me in the bigger picture. Systems. Complexity. Insight.
And then? Then comes the moment when your bubble slowly gets close to the maximum size of the color and is ready to pop. This phase isn’t always pleasant. You might feel like you’re caught between worlds. No longer in the green zone, but not yet in the yellow one, for example. That’s when you notice: Something’s gotta burst now. An idea. An adjustment. An illusion. A bubble.
YOUR place starts with a NO – So finally burst
At first, the no’s sneak in gently as in-between feelings or mixed emotions, irritation, doubt, uncertainty, and then burst into signpost feelings and shift back and forth between those in-between feelings and signpost feelings.
The question is: Which way do you want to learn when things are bursting? Which direction do you want to grow? What’s your NO really about? Is it coming from love or from fear?
My motto in life is: Evolve and EVOLveLOVE. Grow, and let love lead the way.
I’m deeply convinced that this is also the sustainable direction for the big idea to grow.
A no like that isn’t separation. It’s an act of love. It’s YOUR yes to YOURSELF, staying connected to the big idea.
And sometimes, a wider horizon needs an even clearer NO.
With people who have a broad horizon, you can go far to reach the limit – and even further to cross it. When I said this sentence for the first time, I realized its double meaning myself. Because the wider YOUR horizon is, the more you let others act in your space. And that’s where it gets crucial: You need your NOs within your wide horizon. Otherwise, openness turns into loss. Tolerance becomes a loophole. Diversity turns into randomness.
The horizon expands step by step:
- from violet – me and my tribe,
- to red, blue, orange, green, yellow, all the way to turquoise.
This dynamic is reflected not only in your inner compass, but also in global politics in recent years. With the good intentions of a wide consciousness, we’ve invited in red energies that actually need boundaries.
The horizon paradox goes like this: The further you are (in both senses), the more you risk letting everything in – even stuff that takes over your space. Turbo-egos. Action junkies. The system’s shadow sides.
And this is where your inner navigator’s maturity shows: You can only lead consciously – yourself and others – if you can say a CLEAR NO within your vastness.
Reflection questions for your everyday life:
- Where do you say yes, even though your body’s already saying no?
- What image pops up for you when you think about “saying no” – and how could you reshape it?
- Which voice inside you needs more space to speak its truth?
- Where’s your NO coming from? From fear or from love?
- What would be the most loving no you could say today?
When personal responsibility becomes a trap – and your no becomes your rescue
In green and yellow development fields, personal responsibility is often celebrated as the highest good. And rightly so – it’s a key to personal freedom, growth, and deep connection on equal footing.
But there’s a subtle trap hiding here too:
- You can overdo personal responsibility.
- You can get so caught up in your sense of responsibility that you start taking on responsibility where it’s not even yours.
- You start holding space that others should be holding for themselves.
- You carry emotional burdens that aren’t even yours.
- You explain, understand, take over – out of love. And in the process, you miss:
- Your personal responsibility ends where you reduce someone else’s personal responsibility.
As a coach, that’s crystal clear to me. But in my personal life, it was one of my biggest learning curves, and it took a while until I finally burst.
Where my compassion started to relieve others, I began to explore my own no. Not as a limit to love – but as a condition for real, mature love. As a space that makes growth possible – for me and for others. Since then, I know: Sometimes saying no is the most responsible form of self-responsibility YOU can live.
I truly wish for you and all of us that when you burst, it comes from love and not from fear.
Your YES to NO changes your world – for real.
“The wider your horizon, the more space you give others – until they cross it. That’s exactly where your no begins. Where you take away the self-responsibility of others is where it ends.”
